Overall workplace satisfaction levels among third-, fourth-, and fifth-year associates took a hit in 2023, as measured in Law.com’s annual Midlevel Associate Satisfaction Survey. Each year, the survey polls Big Law associates on satisfaction levels (on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest) around areas including the interestingness of work, benefits and compensation, relations between associates and partners, training and guidance, management’s openness about firm strategies and partnership chances, pro bono and billable hours policies, among others.
