A federal judge in Massachusetts this week barred a National Hockey League Players Association agent from selling personal or business assets in an apparent attempt to avoid paying more than $1 million owed to a Finnish sports agency.
The plaintiff, Professional Sport Service FI OY, which manages professional ice hockey players in Finland, filed the Sept. 12 complaint in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts against Jay Grossman, a registered agent who has represented big-name athletes in the NHL and was the owner of a now-defunct sports representation company, Puck Agency.
