Electronic Arts Inc. and The9 Limited

Electronic Arts Inc. has been playing games in China. In May, the world’s leading video game publisher signed a two-pronged deal with The9 Limited, one of China’s largest electronic game vendors. For $167 million, EA snagged 15 percent of The9′s common stock; and in a separate transaction, EA granted its new partner the exclusive Chinese license to market FIFA, EA’s International Soccer League title, for an undisclosed sum.
