Ruiz v. State of Texas

Appellant Esteban Ruiz was convicted of manslaughter and assessed punishment at 20 years' imprisonment. On appeal he contended that the evidence was legally insufficient to support his conviction because the testimony of a jailhouse informant was insufficiently corroborated by other evidence tending to connect him to the offense. The court concluded that the testimony of the jailhouse informant was sufficiently corroborated by other evidence and overruled the appellant's sole issue.
