Carlos Ortiz is stepping down after 35 years as general counsel of Goya Foods, which bills itself as the nation’s largest Hispanic-owned food company.

In a statement, Bob Unanue, CEO of the Jersey City, New Jersey-based company, called Ortiz’s tenure “remarkable. … We express our deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions, unwavering dedication, and loyal friendship over the years. His leadership has shaped our legal strategies and strengthened our commitment to excellence.”
