President Donald Trump has nominated Pierre Gentin, chief legal officer of the consulting giant McKinsey & Co. since 2019, to serve as general counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Trump has not publicly announced Gentin’s selection, and Gentin was not immediately available for comment Wednesday morning. However, the nomination—which requires U.S. Senate confirmation—is listed in Senate records.
