Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal entered an opinion affirming summary judgment in favor of the personal representative of the Garth Reeves estate. Garth Reeves, former publisher of The Miami Times, businessman and real estate investor, was a prominent community member before his death at the age of 100, leaving behind a sizable estate.
And the litigation centered on whether Reeves had the legal capacity to execute testamentary documents or was suffering from dementia or undue influence by others in an alleged attempt to divest his grandson of his inheritance.
