The Georgia Court of Appeals has been asked to clarify how far an auditor can go to get a corporation to terminate an employee.
At an argument session on Tuesday, Randolph Mayer of Mayer & Harper represented Emery Shane Sheffield, the former CFO of Atlanta herbicide developer Alligare, a subsidiary of ADAMA. Sheffield originally sued the auditor in the State Court of Gwinnett County, contending the firm pressured his employer into firing him. Now, he’s appealing the case, after Judge Ronda Colvin Leary granted the defendants summary judgment.
