Law firms of all sizes in the Am Law 200 are racing to invest in generative AI technology, including regional and Second Hundred law firms competing with higher-grossing law firms with more resources.

But some firms in the Second Hundred say AI presents an opportunity to level the playing field in the legal industry, by allowing firms to take on larger and more matters that would have required more resources and staff.
