The winners for the Southeastern Legal Awards Litigation Department of the year are out. Law firms across the country with a Southeastern presence could apply for the honor, highlighting matters led by attorneys from the region in categories including Appellate, General, Product Liability and Securities litigation. Finalists announced in April included the likes of Alston & Bird, King & Spalding, and Greenberg Traurig, but the 2024 Southeastern Legal Awards ceremony held on June 20 revealed only one of the three AM Law giants emerged at the top of their class.

General Litigation

One of the two largest law firms in Atlanta, Alston & Bird took the crown for best general litigation department in 2024. The practice touts its litigation department as “A powerhouse in the firm,” generating nearly 50% of the firm’s annual revenue, with a large portion of litigation profits and newly elected partners hailing from the Southeast.
