Just over two weeks ago, Montreal M&A partner Peter Castiel assumed the role of chair at Canadian law firm Stikeman Elliott, succeeding Toronto’s Jeffrey Singer.

Castiel, who has spent his entire 30-plus-year career with the firm, was chosen for the position through a consultative process leading to a full vote from the partnership. During his three-year term, he’ll be overseeing the strategic direction and management of the firm, while continuing his busy practice, which has included advising clients Bain Capital, Madison Dearborn, and TELUS Corp.
