A colossal green stone known as the Bahia Emerald may finally return to Brazil after nearly a decade of litigation in the U.S.

Judge Reggie B. Walton, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, announced in October that he would soon issue a ruling on the U.S. Department of Justice’s motion to forfeit the gem. That ruling is expected shortly.
