Some 100 lawyers packed into a Munich airport hangar last week to represent 8,500 Wirecard plaintiffs in a case that may finally unravel the details of one of the largest financial scandals in post-war German history.
The Wirecard debacle dates back to 2020 when the DAX stock exchange-listed bank filed for insolvency announcing €1.9 billion in cash was “missing” and that Wirecard was €3.2 billion in debt.
