Jaime Carey, the senior partner of Carey Abogados, Chile’s largest law firm, has assumed the presidency of the International Bar Association, succeeding Spanish lawyer Almudena Arpón de Mendívil y Aldama.
Carey is the fourth Latin American and first Chilean to preside over the 80-year-old organization, which counts 80,000 lawyers across 170 countries.
