German automobile giant Volkswagen’s Indian subsidiary, called Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, has launched a $1.4 billion civil action against the country’s authorities, challenging a tax notice alleging the company of misclassifying its imports.
The dispute, which was filed on January 29, 2025, will be heard in the High Court of Bombay on February 5, 2025, according to the court website. The company has turned to local law firm Economics Laws Practice for counsel.
