    Denton Wilde Sapte has launched a raid on City rival Simmons & Simmons with the hire of corporate partner Andrew Ward, as the Middle East continues to be a key battleground for London's top firms. Ward, who is currently based in the City, previously headed up Simmons' Abu Dhabi office and will return to the Middle East to head up Dentons' team in the emirate. He will take over from current office head Richard de Belder, who is returning to Dentons' London headquarters.

    Simmons & Simmons and LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae have taken the lead advisory roles on Shell's sale of an oil refinery in the south of France for $700m (£345m).
