    Freshfields recruits first-ever COO for Stateside operations

    Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed its first-ever chief operating officer for its US arm, with the hire of Sullivan & Cromwell's former chief legal personnel and development officer. Andrea Locklear started at the magic circle firm this month. She was most recently managing director of New York corporate recruitment firm FPC, prior to which she was at Sullivan for 10 years.

    Dechert puts together team for Frankfurt office relaunch

    Dechert has relaunched in Frankfurt after pulling out of the region in 2005, with the US firm making a combination of hires and relocations to staff the new office. Funds partner Achim Putz, who joined the firm in 2010 from SJ Berwin, will serve as the managing partner for the office.     Greenberg Traurig Maher's (GTM) burgeoning London office has posted turnover of £8.7m for its first full year in the City, according to the firm's new LLP accounts.
