    SJ Berwin has become the latest firm to announce a bumper crop of new partners, with the top 20 firm making up 16 new partners effective from 1 May. The City firm is making up its largest number of new partners to date, with nine of the promotions coming in London. Germany dominates the promotions on the Continent, with four lawyers being made up, while there are two new partners in Spain and one in Paris. The promotions mark an increase on last year, when SJ Berwin make up 13 new partners, eight of whom were in London.

    Chadbourne returns to Dubai after 14-year absence

    Chadbourne & Parke is set to re-establish an office in Dubai after a 14-year absence from the emirate, the New York firm announced today (17 April). The new office opens for business on 1 May and will be staffed by nine lawyers, with former Chadbourne partner Jack Greenwald returning to head up the practice. Greenwald had quit Chadbourne in 1989 to form his own business, Greenwald Legal Consultancy.
