    Clydes chief awarded honorary QC status alongside 88-strong silk round

    The annual round of QC appointments has been announced today (29 February), with Clyde & Co senior partner Michael Payton awarded honorary QC status. Payton, who has been senior partner of Clydes since 1984, has taken the firm through a number of major changes including its merger with legacy Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in November last year. Blackstone Chambers, 7 King's Bench Walk and Doughty Street Chambers are among this year's most successful chambers, with all three housing a trio of newly appointed silks.

The case, involving a $2.1m (£1.3m) claim brought by investment-managers AKO Capital and AKO Master Fund against former broker TFS Derivatives, has seen Mr Justice Teare approve the use of Facebook to locate former TFS employee Fabio de Biase.

    Clydes appoints new Singapore chief with relocation of London partner

    Clyde & Co has appointed a new Singapore managing partner with the relocation of City shipping partner Brian Nash to the region, as the firm continues to bulk up in Asia. Nash has taken up the role as of this month and has also been appointed to the firm's Asia regional board.
