Travers Smith and Linklaters have bagged roles advising on the £1.6bn sale of the Trafford Centre. Travers advised long-standing client Peel Holdings, which sold the Trafford Centre to Capital Shopping Centres Group (CSC) for £1.6bn. The deal was announced last month (25 November) and is set to close by the end of the year.

Fixed-share partners are unable to bring unfair dismissal claims, according to a recent ruling in the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT). The tribunal this month upheld an earlier ruling that claimant Martin Tiffin, formerly of Bournemouth-based law firm Lester Aldridge, was classified as a partner of the firm and not an employee, and was therefore unable to claim unfair dismissal.

The airline is understood to be handing the main role on its planned listing to longstanding adviser Eversheds.
