    Skadden to close San Francisco base and consolidate California offices

    Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has announced that it will close its San Francisco office at the end of June next year, reports The Am Law Daily. The US firm has asked the lawyers in the San Francisco base - 17 associates, three counsel, and four partners - to move to its office in Palo Alto.

    Skadden matches Cravath payouts as 2010 US firm bonus rates take shape

    Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has matched the associate bonus rates announced this week by Cravath Swaine & Moore, reports The Am Law Daily. The US firm will this year hand out bonuses ranging from $7,500 (£4,800) for first-year associates to $35,000 (£22,000) for more senior associates.     Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton is set to launch in Sao Paulo next year as the US leader moves to reinforce its highly-rated Latin American practice.
