    Herbert Smith Freehills raises pay for all lawyers up to 3PQE

    Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has announced across-the-board increases in its junior salary bands for 2013-14, with pay rises of up to 3% for the firm's trainees and associates. The changes will take effect from 1 June and will see newly-qualified (NQ) lawyers now paid £63,000, up £1,500 from last year's salary of £61,500.

    Ashurst sets out new pay rates as 2PQE associates get £3,000 rise

    Ashurst has confirmed its associate salary rates for 2013-14, with lawyers with two years' post-qualification experience (PQE) seeing the biggest pay rise of an extra £3,000 on last year. The new rates, which came into effect from 1 May, see lawyers with one year's PQE earning £69,000, £2,000 more than last year's salary of £67,000. The firm is also raising the rate for lawyers with two years' PQE by £3,000 to £77,000.

    Hong Kong is the third most popular destination in the world for expatriate lawyers, according to a new report commissioned by business school ESCP Europe and recruiter Hydrogen.
