    Latham & Watkins has turned to Norton Rose for its latest London partner hire, recruiting banking partner Dean Naumowicz for its City finance team. Naumowicz, who joined Norton Rose as a partner in 2006 from Barclays Capital, focuses on derivatives and structured finance. Roles he has taken on recent deals have included acting for project company Societa di Progetto Brebemi on a €2.3bn (£1.9bn) toll motorway project in Italy, on which he worked with a team of lawyers from the firm's Milan office.

    Ashurst and BLP lead Korean purchase of City property

    Ashurst and Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) have landed key roles on Samsung SRA Asset Management's acquisition of London's 30 Crown Place, in the Korean fund manager's first overseas investment. The sale of the 192,070 sq ft office building, the London base of Pinsent Masons, is reportedly valued at £142m. Ashurst advised Samsung SRA – a new client of the firm – and Cushman & Wakefield Investors, fielding a team led by real estate partners David Jones and Sarah Watkinson and tax partner Paul Miller.

    The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has kicked off a review of its EMEA legal panel, with the tender process for places on the new roster opening last month. Allen & Overy (A&O), Ashurst, Eversheds, Baker & McKenzie, Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), Clifford Chance (CC), CMS Cameron McKenna, Linklaters, SJ Berwin, Travers Smith and White & Case are all understood to be among the firms pitching for a place on the panel, which covers 24 countries.
