Tell us about your top U.S. Supreme Court or federal appeals court victory over the past year and how you and your team achieved the win.

We prevailed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court for the Regents of the University of California and its president Janet Napolitano in their challenge to the rescission of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). Covington’s Jeff Davidson presented oral argument to the Ninth Circuit, which affirmed the district court’s injunction. In the Supreme Court, we worked closely with other plaintiff groups and prevailed in a 5-4 opinion that quotes our brief. We also successfully represented Eli Lilly in the Ninth Circuit, in a case I argued, in a putative class action seeking billions of dollars in damages.
