President Joe Biden named five additional judicial nominees Wednesday, including two for the District of Columbia Superior Court, as the Senate Judiciary Committee held confirmation hearings for existing nominees.

Biden intends to appoint judges to federal trial courts in New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and two judges for the D.C. Superior Court, according to the White House. One of those nominees is state Judge Anthony J. Brindisi of New York, a former congressman and state lawmaker.
