We sit on the boards of two of the most impactful legal services nonprofits in New York City. We take great pride in our roles ensuring that our organizations succeed—guiding their missions, enhancing their goals, and overseeing their financial health so that they can provide life-saving legal help to New Yorkers who need it the most.
But those missions, and the well-being of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers who depend on them, are in serious jeopardy due to the city’s extreme delays in paying legal services providers’ contracts.
