Several years after businesses began lifting their pandemic-related restrictions, investors brought more COVID-19 securities class actions in 2024 than the year before, according to a report from Cornerstone Research and the Stanford Law School Securities Class Action Clearinghouse.

Researchers found that 15 COVID-19-related cases were brought in 2024, up from 11 in 2023. The number of filings is still below 2022’s record—20 in one year, however, the activity is remarkable in that it comes years after the worst of the pandemic.
