Tanya Martinez-Gallinucci, a former litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, middle school teacher in the Bronx and Washington Heights, and an attorney with multiple degrees who grew up attending New York City public schools, will take over as the new executive director of the city bar association's Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, according to a news release.

The program is being run by the state bar association's Task Force on Racism, Social Equity, and the Law. Separately, the task force is expected in mid-June to release a major report examining areas disproportionately affecting minorities and the underprivileged, including health, economic opportunities, housing, education, environmental justice and criminal justice, a spokeswoman told the New York Law Journal.
