A Fox Rothschild retirement dispute made its way into New Jersey state court on Wednesday, highlighting succession issues under mandatory retirement policies as well as the matter of senior attorney compensation.
Former equity partner and corporate department chair Michael Kline filed suit against the firm and its former managing partner Mark Morris in Mercer County Superior Court alleging age discrimination after being forced into an income partner role at the firm in 2018 on hitting age 73. Kline said this led to a salary reduction despite serving 30 years at the firm.
