O’Melveny & Myers this week hired an energy transactions partner in Houston while Vinson & Elkins brought on an energy regulatory partner in Washington, D.C. The hiring comes as Big Law energy practices, including those focused on oil and gas transactions, are expected to stay busy under a second Trump presidency.

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe partner David Aaronson joined O’Melveny on Wednesday as a partner in the energy and infrastructure group, while Locke Lord partner Thomas Knight joined Vinson & Elkins on Tuesday as a partner in the energy regulatory practice.
