Sometimes there’s a bright side to being hit with an eight-figure verdict. At least according to Temple University Health System general counsel John Ryan.
In May 2023, Temple University Hospital found itself facing a $25.9 million medical malpractice verdict, which a judge later molded to $30.3 million. To Ryan, that loss made clear that Temple had not been defending itself as well as it should have.
