Veteran federal prosecutor Stephen Cazares, who most recently served as a lead defense attorney in the case against Theranos President Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, was hired by Los Angeles boutique firm Foundation Law Group this week to helm its white-collar crime practice.

Cazares said he became acquainted with FLG through its CEO, Armen Martin, who was his roommate in law school and has remained a close friend ever since. Martin co-founded FLG in 2013.
