In a dispute between competing real estate websites, real estate analytics company CoStar Group has secured the dismissal of two of six trade secret theft claims brought by rival Move Inc. in a California federal court. The judge trimmed two claims based on California statutes. The ruling assigned Move a deadline of three weeks to file an amended complaint, which a spokesperson for its Realtor.com website said it plans to pursue.
U.S. District Judge George H. Wu of the Central District of California granted a defense motion to dismiss claims alleging violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and the Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act with leave to amend in a ruling published Oct. 29.
