OpenAI has informed U.S. District Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin of the Northern District of California that it will petition the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate eight copyright suits against the artificial intelligence company that are pending in California and New York.

The letter signed by Robert Van Nest, partner with Keker, Van Nest & Peters in San Francisco, was filed Thursday in the Northern District of California court where the class action complaint, Tremblay v. Open AI, is pending.
