After 30 years at the helm, Daniel Girard is stepping down as managing partner of San Francisco-based Girard Sharp and handing the reins over to partner Dena Sharp.

The transition, announced on Jan. 6, is the first for the firm, which Girard founded in 1995. Sharp, who joined the firm in 2006, handles significant pharmaceutical and antitrust class actions, such as the Google digital advertising antitrust litigation, and has been appointed to leadership roles in several multidistrict litigation dockets, including those over Juul electronic cigarettes and Philips recalled CPAP machines.
